Cawdor Castle
We were unexpectedly able to visit Cawdor Castle, of Shakespeare fame, after our cruise ship made an unexpected stop at Invergordon, Scotland, due to damage from a storm the previous day. This castle is small enough that you could easily imagine living here just as the owner does for half of the year. Although the gardens were past their best, we still thought them attractive and the whole experience charming and romantic.
Riverside Inn, Scotland

When one lives in a climate as bleak as that of Scotland, pieces of colour like the red door are an attempt to raise the spirits.

Highland View

This painting was commissioned by an elderly Scottish/Canadian gentleman to commemorate taking his daughter back to Scotland on holiday. Because I have spent so much time in the United Kingdom, I was most comfortable with the idea.
North Channel from Knockinaam Lodge Hotel, Scotland

This painting shows a view out over the Irish Sea. My viewpoint is Scotland, looking across to Ireland in less than brilliant weather. In this area, the weather changes every 20 minutes. See also North Channel, Scotland, Image #1203.
